Are you interested in a type of sport called “people watching”?

It is when you sit down watching people. That is why they call it people watching. Almost the same thing as bird watching, in a way!
.
Many Western countries consider people watching a hobby, so serious that a wide array of researches were taken to study, explain, justify and even to serve commercial purposes. Not only neuroscience or ethnography, but people watching has been delved into by researchers from the world’s leading brands to analyse consumer behaviours (of course, in pursuit of sale boosting!).
.
Actually, people watching is a free-of-charge fun (perhaps there is, but only for the cost of drink payable to the café whereby the “watcher” is stationing). There are a few norms and rules to follow. For example, no privacy violation, no photo shooting without consent, no stalking, no humiliation, etc. For the time being, there’re other interesting things going on as well, as watchers can also overhear their talks, study their grooming details, glance (or freak) at their pet or even sketch their look in to a sketch book.
.
Alas, people watching tends not to become popular in Thailand. Blame it to the hot-like-hell heat, city chaos, pollution and the quality of pavements. Or else people watching could probably be one of the most powerful sports in this country.
